BHP Group's (ASX:BHP) venture capital arm, BHP Ventures, joined Mariana Minerals' $310 million series B financing, led by Khosla Ventures, according to a late Monday statement by Mariana Minerals.
The financing also included participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz and Breakthrough Energy Ventures, as well as several new strategic investors.
Mariana Minerals said the financing increases its total capital raised to around $400 million and will fund the expansion of its artificial intelligence-powered mining and refining projects, including the Copper One project in Utah and the Lithium One project in Texas.
