Beyond Oil (BOIL.CN) has begun commercial sales with a medium-sized fast food chain in the United States, the food-tech company said on Wednesday.
The sales follows an extensive pilot validation program that began late last year and expanded to a multi-location pilot in the first quarter of this year. The pilots demonstrated Beyond Oil's "exceptional" performance under the chain's health and operational standards. Beyond Oil's technology, cleared by both the FDA and Health Canada, significantly reduces harmful compounds in frying oil.
Beyond Oil has begun an initial commercial rollout into restaurants owned by three franchisees in three American states. After this phase is complete, the company expects to extend the commercial rollout across the chain's restaurant group in the U.S. The fast-food chain has hundreds of locations in the U.S. and internationally, a statement added.
"Today marks yet another milestone in Beyond Oil's ongoing efforts to expand its reach in the United States with the completion of our successful pilot program and initial sales to an iconic American fast-food chain," said Michael Nemirow, head of Beyond Oil North America. "Throughout the pilot phase, we witnessed once again how our solution improves the food quality that their customers love while simultaneously delivering the operational efficiencies and health benefits that matter to restaurant operators. Our team is working very hard to expand our presence in other states within this chain's vast US network and also to replicate these successes in other US chains in the coming weeks and months."
