BCE's (BCE.TO) Bell Media unit on Thursday agreed to a "first-look" development deal with television producer Jeff Frost and his production company, Bristol Circle Entertainment, the company said on Thursday.
The new partnership aims to create original content for Bell's CTV television network and its Crave streaming service, and for global distribution. Frost was a former president of Sony Entertainment, and his credits include Breaking Bad, Outlander and Pluribus, a statement added.
"Jeff has spent decades identifying exceptional creative talent and developing some of TV's most compelling stories including BREAKING BAD, OUTLANDER, and most recently PLURIBUS," said Justin Stockman, Vice-President ,Global Content said in a release. "By combining Bristol Circle Entertainment's creative pedigree, and Bell Media's market-leading platforms, we have a distinctive advantage in creating and delivering high-quality original drama series
BCE shares were last seen up C$0.63, or 2.1%, to C$30.97 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
