Bausch Health Companies (BHC.TO) said Thursday that its chief executive Thomas Appio has been appointed to the board of its subsidiary Bausch + Lomb (BLCO.TO).
The appointment was effective August 5.
Bausch Health, which holds an 87% equity stake in Bausch + Lomb, said in a statement that it requested the change that it said was "consistent" with its ownership position.
It reiterated its support for Bausch + Lomb's strategy and long-term growth objectives.
"Bausch + Lomb is an important asset of Bausch Health, and I look forward to working with the board to support its strategy and help drive long-term value for shareholders," Appio said.
Bausch Health shares were last seen down C$0.43 at C$8.37 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
