Barrick Mining (ABX.TO, B) said Tuesday it appointed Sebastiaan Bock as chief executive officer, rest of world, effective immediately.
Bock will lead the company's gold and copper operations and projects outside North America and will report to Barrick chief executive Mark Hill, the company said.
"Seb's experiences and accomplishments are tailor-made for Barrick to build on this unique advantage. He has experience across operations, finance, strategic planning, geopolitical issues, human resources, and risk management. Seb is the ideal person to grow our Rest of World business," Hill said in a release.
The company's rest of world portfolio includes gold and copper assets across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
Barrick shares slipped $0.03 to $40.85 in premarket New York trade. They closed down C$3.93, or 6.4%, to C$57.03 Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
