Australia's total engineering construction work done rose 7.1% to AU$38.87 billion in the March quarter, seasonally adjusted, up from AU$36.29 billion in the previous quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Wednesday.
The private sector's seasonally adjusted work done rose 15.9% to AU$22.93 billion, whereas the public sector's fell 3.5% to AU$15.94 billion.
The total value of work commenced in the March quarter rose 6.2% to AU$31.21 billion, comprising AU$19.88 billion from the private sector and AU$11.33 billion from the public sector.
Total engineering construction work in the March quarter rose 5.3%, with private sector activity rising 14.5% and public sector activity declining 5.5% compared with the March 2025 quarter.
