Aurora Cannabis Says Curaleaf's Attempt to Stop ATM Program is to Distract Shareholders

By

Aurora Cannabis (ACB.TO) on Monday said Curaleaf's (CURA.TO) application to the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) to stop it from activating its at-the-market (ATM) financing program is merely to "distract" shareholders.

Curaleaf earlier today said it was requesting the halt while its hostile offer to acquire Aurora remained outstanding. It also requested an expedited hearing before the ASC.

Aurora noted in a statement that Curaleaf's hostile bid significantly undervalued Aurora and the application was an attempt to distract shareholders from that.

Aurora shares closed up CA$0.15, to CA$5.32, on the Toronto Stock Exchange, while Curaleaf shares closed up CA$0.76, to CA$14.05.
