Consumer expectations for one-year US inflation growth remained unchanged at 3.6% gain in August, according to a survey released by the New York Federal Reserve Bank on Tuesday.
The median inflation expectations decreased to 3.2% gain from a 3.3% gain for the three-year period and remained at 3.0% gain for five years ahead.
The median inflation uncertainty rose to 2.9% from 2.7% in the one-year horizon and fell to 2.7% from 2.8% for the three-year outlook.
Median home price change expectations declined to 3.0% from 3.2% while home price uncertainty increased to a 3.4% increase from a 3.3% increase in the previous month.
The median one-year expectations commodity prices growth rose for all commodities namely gas, food, medical care, college education, rent and gold.
The median for expected earnings growth rose while that for earnings growth uncertainty declined in the month. The mean probability for losing a job fell while that for leaving a job voluntarily increased. The mean probability for finding a job fell in the month while the mean probability that unemployment rate will be higher one year from now was up.
