Australian shares are poised to rise on Tuesday, tracking a retreat in oil prices as investors hoped for diplomatic progress in the Iran conflict and a partial recovery in Saudi crude shipments.
Overnight, the S&P 500, the Nasdaq Composite, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.5%, 2.3%, and 0.7%, respectively.
In the macroeconomy, the ANZ-Roy Morgan Australian consumer confidence fell 1.9 points to 72 in the week of Sept. 14 to Sept. 20, ANZ reported Tuesday.
