ANA Holdings (TYO:9202) said that its subsidiary All Nippon Airways and Tokyo-based AI and robotics company Avatarin launched remote passenger support services across multiple regional airports using Avatarin's "newme" robots, according to a Friday release.
The Tokyo-listed company said that the service rollout is the first for any Japanese airline under which ANA will deliver remote assistance from Kansai International Airport to passengers at regional airports from a centralized back-office location.
The launch follows feasibility testing at Haneda Airport, where more than 25,000 customer interactions were analyzed.
