Altimmune's Phase 2b Trial Data for Pemvidutide Demonstrates Improvements in Liver Disease

Altimmune (ALT) said Wednesday that data from the phase 2b trial of pemvidutide to treat liver disease demonstrated improvements across non-invasive tests of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis activity and fibrosis at 24 weeks compared with placebo.

AI-based pathology showed that pemvidutide treatment led to considerable reductions in fibrosis values compared with placebo, according to a statement.

The company will start patient enrollment for its phase 3 trial of the drug in H2 based on the latest phase 2b results, according to the company.
