Altair Minerals Expands Landholding at Guyana Project

Altair Minerals (ASX:ALR) expanded its landholding at the South Oko project in Guyana by 29 square kilometers after securing adjoining permits, increasing its exposure to the Oko Shear Contact to a total of 18 kilometers of highly prospective strike, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

About six kilometers of strike of the Oko Shear Contact has led to discoveries of 9.1 million ounces of gold to date on the adjoining northern property to the company, the filing said.

The Greater Oko Project now sits at 457 square kilometers, per the filing.

Shares rose past 2% in morning trade Thursday.
