Altair Minerals (ASX:ALR) expanded exploration plans for the Greater Oko project in Guyana to 75,000 meters of combined reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.The program includes 20,000 meters of diamond and 25,000 meters of RC drilling at South Oko, 10,000 meters of diamond and 5,000 meters of RC drilling at North Peters, and 10,000 meters of diamond and 5,000 meters of RC drilling for new regional targets, the filing said.Light Detection and Ranging survey is expected to start in August to allow mapping of structures, lithologies, alluvial fields, road access, and geomorphology, per the filing.Shares rose more than 3% in morning trade on Thursday.

Altair Minerals Says Auger Drilling at Guyana Prospect Increases Confidence That Soil Anomalies Are Reflective of Underlying System

Altair Minerals (ASX:ALR) said auger drilling completed at the South Oko prospect, part of the Greater Oko project in Guyana, to an average depth of 2.5 meters, showed enrichment into the regolith profile, increasing confidence that the soil anomalies are reflective of an underlying system, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.Across a 350-meter-wide section, the average soil anomaly response was 9 parts-per-million (ppm) grade of gold, while the average auger anomaly response was 70 ppm grade of gold right below laterite cover.Auger results also extended the W1 Geochemical target by around 250 meters. A regional and extensional soil sampling program has begun across South Oko.Relogging and remodelling of historic diamond drill holes at the North Peters prospect identified a potential structurally controlled mineralized system.

Altair Minerals to Raise AU$28 Million via Share Placement; Shares Reach Near 14-Year High

Altair Minerals (ASX:ALR) received a firm commitment from Endeavour Mining's Endeavour Gold subsidiary to raise AU$28.2 million through a placement of 656.3 million shares at AU$0.043 apiece, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.In tranche one, 398 million shares will be issued, while the remaining 258.3 million shares will be issued in tranche two, subject to shareholder approval, the filing said.Proceeds will be used to advance the company's drilling and geochemical programs.Endeavour is expected to become a 9.9% shareholder of the company upon completion of the placement, per the filing.Shares rose 20% in recent Monday trade and earlier reached their highest since June 2012.

Altair Minerals (ASX:ALR) said its inaugural drilling program started at the Greater Oko project in Guyana, comprising of 15,000 meters of diamond drilling and 15,000 meters of rotary air blast drilling, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.Initial drilling will start at the North Peters prospect, per the filing. Ongoing geochemical and geophysics works across the project will support a multi-year pipeline of priority targets.The company reported trenching results of 16.5 meters at 9.7 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold, as well as 39 meters at 3.8 g/t grade of gold from the North Peters prospect, the filing said.Altair Minerals' shares rose 10% in recent trading on Tuesday, reaching a five-year peak.
