Alphabet Upsizes Equity Capital Raise to $84.75 Billion

Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) increased the size of its equity capital raise to $84.75 billion from the previously announced $80 billion, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

The offering includes a pledge by Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B) to invest $10 billion in the tech giant in a private placement, the filing said.

Volaris Reports Higher May Passenger Demand

Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion (VLRS), or Volaris, said Wednesday that its passenger demand, measured as revenue passenger miles, increased 4.9% from last year to 2.56 billion in May.Capacity for the month, measured as available seat miles, decreased 0.4% from a year earlier to 2.97 billion, the company said.Consolidated load factor increased 4.3 percentage points from a year earlier to 86.2% in May, Volaris said, adding it transported about 2.7 million passengers in May, up from 2.5 million passengers a year earlier.Shares of Volaris were down more than 1% in early trading Wednesday.Price: $7.73, Change: $-0.09, Percent Change: -1.15%
