Alphabet's Google Launches Gemini Spark AI Agent

Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google said Tuesday it introduced Gemini Spark, a 24/7 AI agent designed to handle and execute digital tasks and workflows.

The cloud-based agent runs on the company's new Gemini 3.5 model and integrates with workspace applications as well as third-party platforms like Canva.

The firm said it will roll out the agent to trusted testers this week, followed by a beta launch for US Google AI Ultra subscribers next week.

Google also introduced Gemini 3.5 Flash along with Gemini Omni, a tool that generates cinematic video content from text, image and video prompts.

Other announcements at Google I/O include a personalized daily brief feature and updates to the Gemini macOS app, which will later incorporate the new agent.

GSI Technology Wins Phase 1 Deal to Build AI-Driven City Security System in Taiwan

GSI Technology (GSIT) won a Phase 1 contract from the Hsinchu County government in Taiwan for an AI-driven smart-city project, marking the company's first deployment of its Gemini-II Associative Processing Unit.The Phase 1 award covers development of an open-architecture software platform, integration of video and user-interface capabilities, and a pilot system supporting about 20 cameras, the company said Monday in a statement.The Smart Eye Guardian system provides real-time detection and monitoring of public-safety events. Phase 1 is expected to run for six months, with potential production deployments beginning in 2027, the company said.Financial terms were not disclosed, though follow-on phases "could generate a multi-million-dollar opportunity for hardware and recurring software-licensing revenue," GSI said.GSI shares rose 1.7% in after-hours trading.

Top cryptocurrencies fell Monday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) falling below the $77,000 level.The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell almost 2.7% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.5%, the S&P 500 eased 0.1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3%.Bitcoin fell 1.9% to $76,931, according to CoinMarketCap data.
