Aecon Group (ARE.TO) after trade Thursday reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of C$0.33 per share, compared with an adjusted loss of C$0.10 per share a year ago.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected C$0.30.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was C$1.63 billion, up from C$1.30 billion a year earlier.
Analysts expected revenue of C$1.48 billion.
Aecon's board approved its next quarterly dividend of 19.25 cents per share, payable on Oct. 2 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 22.
The company added that it projects double-digit revenue growth in 2026 "based on secured backlog exceeding $10 billion, recurring revenue programs, recent acquisitions, and a pipeline of project opportunities tied to nuclear and conventional power, critical resource development, mass transit, water, defence and digital infrastructure".
Aecon shares closed up C$0.37, or 0.8%, to C$44.78 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
