-- US contractor Riggs Distler & Co., European firm Smulders, and Canadian company Cherubini Bridges & Structures have partnered to enhance development of offshore wind energy infrastructure in Nova Scotia, Canada, according to a joint statement Wednesday.
Under the teaming agreement, Cherubini will leverage its large-scale fabrication capability in the region to support local manufacturing of wind generation components. The company has more than 250,000 square feet of fabrication space across multiple facilities.
Construction company Smulders, backed by Eiffage, will bring in its offshore wind expertise, while Centuri (CTRI) subsidiary Riggs Distler will capitalize on its parent company's platform to support local execution.
The collaboration, which will accelerate the development of domestic offshore wind supply chain, aligns with Canada's goal to produce 5 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity by 2030, according to the statement.
