-- Taiwan's unemployment rate rose to 3.34% in March, up 0.02 percentage points from the previous month, according to data from the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics released Thursday.
The seasonally adjusted rate also edged up to 3.35%.
The number of unemployed persons stood at 402,000, increasing by 2,000 from a year earlier but down 1,000 from the previous month.
The labor force participation rate slipped to 59.6%, down 0.02 percentage points from February but up 0.26 percentage points year on year.
Total employment fell by 6,000 to 11.64 million in March, down 0.05% from the previous month but up 0.24% compared with a year earlier, the data showed.
