-- Sitka Gold (SIG.V) has identified multiple occurrences of visible gold in the initial drill holes of its 60,000-meter diamond drill program at the RC gold project in Yukon, the company said Wednesday.
Sitka made the positive observations at the Blackjack and Rhosgobel deposits. Initial drilling at Rhosgobel also continued to intersect coarse scheelite mineralization, a common tungsten mineral, the company said.
All assays for the initial drill holes completed this year are currently pending, Sitka said.
Four diamond drill rigs are currently active on the property, with two additional rigs expected to mobilize in the coming weeks, Sitka said.
"We look forward to rapidly expanding our known gold deposits while we simultaneously drill other high-priority targets that we believe show strong potential to host additional gold deposits," Chief Executive Officer and Director Cor Coe said.
