-- The Philippines' unemployment rate eased to 5.0% in March, from 5.1% a month earlier, according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority released on Wednesday.
The latest reading, however, is higher than the 3.9% recorded a year earlier.
The number of unemployed persons in March stood at 2.58 million, down from 2.66 million in February but higher than 1.93 million in March 2025, the PSA said.
Meanwhile, the country's employment rate was 95% in March, higher than 94.9% in February but below 96.1% a year earlier, the data showed.
