-- GlobalFoundries (GFS) said Monday it introduced its Scale LE optical module for co-packaged optics to support advanced artificial intelligence data centers.
The new platform is the first to meet the Optical Compute Interconnect Multi-Source Agreement standards for modern scaling architectures, the company said.
The silicon photonics technology uses bi-directional data transmission across optical fibers to increase bandwidth density and system scalability compared to traditional copper wiring, GlobalFoundries said.
Shares of the company were up over 6% in Monday premarket activity.
