-- Arclands' (TYO:9842) retail business posted a 5.8% rise in April same-store sales from a year earlier, while total store sales increased 13.5%, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The company corrected March same-store figures, revising sales growth to 5.0% from 4.5% previously. Customer traffic rose 0.8% and average spending per customer increased 4.2%.
At subsidiary Arcland Service Holdings, operator of the Katsuya restaurant chain, April same-store sales fell 3.8% as customer traffic declined 5.6%, partly offset by a 1.9% rise in average spending per customer.
Total sales across all directly operated restaurant stores in Japan rose 0.1% in April, while the number of domestic stores stood at 719 at the end of the month.
