Vanguard International Reports Fire Incident on Fab Facility Rooftop

Vanguard International Semiconductor (TWO:5347) reported a fire incident on the rooftop of its Fab 3 facility in Taoyuan, Taiwan, on Thursday, according to a same-day Taiwan Exchange filing.The company immediately activated emergency response procedures. No injuries or casualties were reported.The incident did not affect major utility facilities, power systems or manufacturing equipment, and most production lines have continued normal operations. Affected air pollution control equipment and certain connected equipment are expected to resume operations within the week after necessary reconnection work.Vanguard International Semiconductor said the cause and potential impacts of the incident remain under evaluation.

TSMC Trims Vanguard International Stake to 19% While Retaining Tech Alliance

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing or TSMC (TPE:2330) plans to sell up to 152 million shares, or about 8.1% of Vanguard International Semiconductor (TWO:5347), through a block trade to financial institutional investors, according to Friday Taiwan Exchange filing.TSMC said the sale will not affect its strategic relationship with VIS, including the outsourcing of interposer production and licensing of GaN technology.Vanguard International Semiconductor's shares have slumped about 10% in recent trade.The company currently holds around 27.1% of Vanguard International Semiconductor on a fully diluted basis and expects its stake to fall to nearly 19% after the transaction.The divestment is part of TSMC's strategy to focus resources on its core business activities, it said.

Vanguard International Semiconductor Approves NT$8.56 Billion Equipment Budget

Vanguard International Semiconductor (TWO:5347) board approved a capital budget for machinery and related facilities equipment worth NT$8.56 billion, according to a filing on Monday.Shares gained about 2% in Tuesday's midday trade.The investment covers equipment for both 8-inch and 12-inch wafer fabs.The 8-inch fab machinery and facilities budget amounts to NT$3.63 billion, while the 12-inch fab allocation stands at NT$4.93 billion.The equipment will be used for production purposes, the filing added.
