GlobalWafers Halts 8-Inch Wafer Line in Italy After Fire Erupts
GlobalWafers (TPE:6488) has halted operations of its 8-inch wafer line production in Italy after a fire broke out on cleanroom equipment, according to a Wednesday filing with the Taiwan Exchange.The silicon wafer maker said the plant's 12-inch production line was unaffected and that it is assessing a post-disaster recovery plan.The company will activate capacity scheduling measures across its global production sites to meet orders and delivery needs.
