Eastern Media International Gets Order to Suspend Operations at Wharf No. 71 of Kaohsiung Port
Eastern Media International Corp (TPE:2614) has received a suspension of work order from the Labor Inspection Office of the Labor Affairs Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government, Taiwan, following the July 15 incident which led to the death of an employee of the company while unloading grains on the vessel "SAPHIRA", according to a Monday filing to the Taiwan stock exchange.The company's shares were up over 1% in Tuesday's trade.The order is for the suspension of grain loading and unloading operations at Wharf No. 71 of Kaohsiung Port untilAug. 14, after which, upon completion of the improvements, the company may immediately apply for the resumption of work.The company's other operations at Wharf No. 72 of Kaohsiung Port, along with Wharf No. 1 and Wharf No. 3 of Taichung Port, are operating normally; therefore, there is no impact on its business operations.Eastern Media said it will claim compensation from the shipowner for any losses sustained as a result of this incident.
