Food Innovators JV Opens Japanese Izakaya in Malaysia
Food Innovators (SGX:KYB) opened its first yakitori-focused Japanese izakaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 1, through a 50:50 joint venture with Japanese izakaya operator Yaruki.The Hakata Yakitori Yokayokado restaurant in Chow Kit has about 1,500 square feet of space and 61 seats, according to a Thursday Singapore Exchange filing.Its menu centres on Hakata-style yakitori and includes mizutaki hot pot, donabe clay-pot rice, small plates and Japanese sake.The group and Yaruki also plan to launch a yakiniku concept in January 2027 at an adjacent location under the same partnership, the filing said.
