WHA Utilities and Power Loses Appeal in Vietnam Water-Plant Share Buyback Dispute
WHA Utilities and Power's (SET:WHAUP) Singapore unit has lost its appeal in a Vietnamese court dispute over an investment in a water plant, according to a Tuesday filing with the Thailand Exchange.The unit, WHAUP (SG) 2DR, received a written appellate judgment in which the Supreme People's Court upheld a lower court ruling and dismissed the unit's claim.The unit had initially sought to compel Aqua One Water and Do Tat Thang to buy back its shares in Duong River Surface Water Plan under a share purchase agreement for about 1.89 trillion Vietnamese dong.The request was rejected by the first-instance court in October 2025.
