Thai Regulator Suspends Thai Setakij Insurance from Offering Insurance Products
Thailand's Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) has ordered Thai Setakij Insurance (SET:TSI) to temporarily suspend the offering of insurance products, effective Aug. 27, on concerns over its capital adequacy level, according to a Tuesday filing to the Thailand stock exchange.The insurer said its capital adequacy level, reported with its second-quarter 2026 financial statements, was at a level requiring close monitoring under OIC regulatory criteria.The regulator has asked the insurance company to temporarily halt new product offerings to manage potential financial risks and protect policyholders and the public.The company said it is a short-term measure intended to enable it to manage and strengthen its capital position, and it will strictly comply with the measure.It further said the company is preparing measures, in consultation with the OIC, to strengthen its capital position and business stability.
