United Spirits to Close Factory Operations at Hyderabad, India Unit

Alcoholic beverages manufacturer United Spirits (NSE:MCDOWELL-N, BOM:532432) has decided to cease factory operations at its Malkajgiri manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, India, according to a Thursday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.The move is part of an agility program approved by the company's board in 2023, under which the company intends to transfer the excise license issued by the Telangana Prohibition & Excise Department to another party.Following this, the factory operations at the unit will cease by Aug. 31.During the financial year 2025-26, the unit contributed around 5.99 billion Indian rupees or 2% of the company's revenue from operations.

Liquor manufacturer United Spirits (NSE:MCDOWELL-N, BOM:532432) has appointed Amitabh Pande as chief strategy officer of the company, with effect from June 1, according to a Friday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.The company's shares were up nearly 4% in recent trade.Pande has 27 years of experience and has been with Diageo India since 2021, leading consumer planning, strategy, and digital transformation.

United Spirits' Consolidated Profit Rises in Fiscal Q4

United Spirits (NSE:MCDOWELL-N, BOM:532432) consolidated profit rose to 5.39 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, from 4.21 billion rupees a year ago.Earnings per share came in at 8.00 rupees from 6.45 rupees a year earlier, the liquor manufacturer said in a filing to the Indian stock exchanges.Revenue from operations in fiscal Q4 also increased to 68.6 billion rupees from 65.5 billion rupees a year ago.The company's board recommended a final dividend of 11 rupees per equity share of face value of 2 rupees each for thefinancial year ending March 31.
