Maple Leaf Foods' 2025 Integrated Report Shows Waste Reduction, Animal Welfare Progress
Maple Leaf Foods (MFI.TO) on Thursday released its annual integrated report for 2025 that showed progress in areas including waste reduction, animal welfare and environmental targets.The maker of Schneiders meat products said it made "significant waste reduction" progress last year, with 10 more sites and facilities becoming landfill-free. It achieved a 2.1% cut in absolute Scope 1 & 2 emissions from the 2018 baseline, and an almost 16% decrease in Scope 3 emissions intensity from the 2018 baseline, it added."This has been a defining year for Maple Leaf Foods," said Chief Executive Curtis Frank. "We successfully completed the spin-off of our pork operations and the final phase of our C$2 billion transformation, positioning the company with greater financial strength, sharper strategic focus, and improved consistency in performance."Maple Leaf Foods shares rose 0.5% to $30.84 on the Toronto Stock Exchange Wednesday.
