PBA Unit Signs Build-Operate-Transfer Deal for Water Treatment Plant
PBA (KLSE:PBA) unit Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang signed a conditional build-operate-transfer deal with Inya Water Engineering (M) for an 80 million-liter-per-day water treatment plant in Penang, Malaysia.Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang will purchase treated water from a special-purpose vehicle to be incorporated by Inya under a 30-year bulk water supply agreement, The initial rate will be 0.98 ringgit per cubic meter.The project, which includes a raw water intake and sludge treatment facilities, is expected to be completed by June 7, 2027.The total bulk water supply charges are estimated at 1.10 billion ringgit over the supply period.
