Kawan Food Posts Lower Q1 Earnings as Revenue Dips 2.6%
Kawan Food's (KLSE:KAWAN) net profit dropped to 1.1 million ringgit for the first quarter from 4.6 million ringgit a year earlier, according to a Wednesday Malaysian bourse filing.The company attributed the decline to weaker export sales and foreign exchange losses.Revenue also slid to 68.7 million ringgit from 70.5 million ringgit in the same period last year, though domestic demand supported performance during the local festive season.The company said it remains focused on improving supply chain resilience and managing cost pressures amid volatile global conditions, according to the filing.
