SMC Electric Forecasts H1 Loss; Shares Down 7%
SMC Electric (HKG:2381) expects to report an attributable loss of HK$2 million to HK$5 million for the first half of 2026, compared with a profit of HK$12.9 million a year earlier, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.The electrical products manufacturer attributed the expected loss mainly to lower gross profit due to suspended Middle East sales, higher raw material costs, delayed product shipments and weaker demand.Shares of the electrical products manufacturer were down 7% in recent trade.
