Hua Lien Unit Cleared to Resume Sugar Production, Sale in Jamaica
Hua Lien International (HKG:0969) said the National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA) of Jamaica has allowed factory operations and the sale of sugar products to resume.The move came after the authority acknowledged the rehabilitation procedures implemented by unit Pan-Caribbean Sugar for its factory, a Wednesday bourse filing showed.The sales had been halted in April by the NCRA until corrective actions were implemented and deemed satisfactory.The regulator reviewed satisfactory lab results for samples from the rehabilitated products and said the sugar products previously subject to the Stop Order can now be released batch by batch.The operation of Pan-Caribbean Sugar's factory, as well as the production, distribution, and sale of new sugar products will also resume.
