Galmed Pharmaceuticals Develops Oral Film Version of Parkinson's Treatment
Galmed Pharmaceuticals (GLMD) has developed orally dispersible film delivery and a brain penetrating formulation of its Parkinson's Disease treatment Aramchol, the company said Tuesday.The formulation shows higher systemic bioavailability and increase in central nervous system exposure than conventional oral administration, the company said.Aramchol's rapidly dissolving film formulation dissolves quickly without water, eliminating the need to swallow tablets or liquids, which is difficult for some Parkinson's patients, the company said.Shares of the company were down over 5% in recent premarket trading Tuesday.Price: $0.50, Change: $-0.027, Percent Change: -5.14%
