Alpha Tau Medical, Tolmar International Agree to Develop, Commercialize Prostate Cancer Therapy

Alpha Tau Medical (DRTS) and Tolmar International have agreed to develop and commercialize Alpha DaRT therapy for the treatment of prostate cancer in the US, the companies said Wednesday.Under the agreement, Alpha Tau will lead clinical development and manufacture the therapy, while Tolmar International will receive exclusive rights it in the US, according to the companies.Additionally, the companies said Tolmar International will make a $20 million equity investment in Alpha Tau at $11.99 per share and provide $15 million towards a new US manufacturing facility.The deal also includes up to $96.5 million in development and regulatory milestones and up to $65 million in commercial milestone payments for the initial indication, Alpha Tau Medical and Tolmar International said.Alpha Tau said it will sell Alpha DaRT to Tolmar at 60% of onward net sales price, subject to certain adjustments.Alpha Tau Medical shares were over 15% higher in early Wednesday trading.Price: $10.31, Change: $+1.38, Percent Change: +15.45%

Alpha Tau Medical Reports Data Showing Alpha DaRT Increases Overall Survival for Patients With Pancreatic Cancer

Alpha Tau Medical (DRTS) said Monday that data from a pooled analysis of three prospective phase 1/2 trials of its Alpha DaRT device to treat advanced pancreatic cancer, exceeded the overall survival and safety rate compared with standard second-line chemotherapy.The oncology company said the data came from a pooled analysis of the clinical studies, which are evaluating endoscopic ultrasound-guided intratumoral Alpha DaRT treatment in patients who have locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.Alpha DaRT-treated patients who have already received two lines of chemotherapy had a median overall survival of 17.1 months in locally advanced disease, and 11.3 months in metastatic disease, the company said.
