New Zealand Shares Fall; Summerset Group Holdings H1 Earnings, Revenue Up
New Zealand shares fell on Thursday, tracking weakness on Wall Street after data showed inflation still firm in the US.The S&P/NZX 50 Index fell 0.95% or 133.16 points to close at 13,880.05.The personal consumption expenditures index in the US rose 0.2% in July compared with the prior month, showing that the US Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure is still hot.On Wednesday, the S&P 500 was flat, and the Nasdaq Composite edged lower 0.1% while the Dow Jones fell 0.2%, even as technology stocks received a boost from Nvidia earnings.In corporate news, Summerset Group Holdings (NZE:SUM, ASX:SNZ) logged NZ$0.7046 in EPS for the first half, compared with NZ$0.373 a year ago. For the six months ended June 30, revenue was NZ$200.3 million versus NZ$173 million previously.Precinct Properties NZ & Precinct Properties Investments (NZE:PCT) logged NZ$0.0644 in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) for fiscal 2026, compared with NZ$0.0654 a year ago. For the 12 months ended June 30, gross operating revenue was NZ$278.1 million versus NZ$266.1 million previously.Lastly, Genesis Energy (ASX:GNE, NZE:GNE) logged NZ$0.0726 in earnings per share for fiscal 2026, compared with NZ$0.155 a year ago. For the 12 months ended June 30, revenue was NZ$2.83 billion versus NZ$3.66 billion previously.
