Alliance Resource Completes $206.2 Million Acquisition of Energy Assets

Alliance Resource Partners (ARLP) has completed its acquisition of certain general partner and limited partner interests in AllDale Minerals III and AllDale Minerals IV for around $206.2 million, the company said Thursday.Alliance Resource funded the deal using a combination of cash, borrowings under its revolving credit facility, and a new $150 million term loan from its Alliance Minerals subsidiary, the company said.Alliance Resource now controls around 115,680 acres within its oil and gas royalties segment, including more than 44,770 net royalty acres in the Permian Basin, following the deal, it said.

Sector Update: Energy Stocks Rise Late Afternoon

Energy stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index increasing 0.9% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) adding 1.1%.The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was climbing 3.8%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index fell 1.7%.Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.6% to $91.06 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract advanced 1.2% to $94.17 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 3% to $3.13 per 1 million BTU.In corporate news, Oklo (OKLO) shares gained 1.4% after the company said it has acquired Armec, a manufacturing and engineering firm, to expand its capabilities in reactor and fuel manufacturing programs.Eni (E) and Petronas said they have launched a 50/50 joint venture called Searah that will combine businesses across Indonesia and Malaysia. Alliance Resource Partners to Buy Certain AllDale Minerals Interests for $206.2 Million

Alliance Resource Partners (ARLP) said Monday it has agreed to acquire certain general partner and limited partner interests in AllDale Minerals III and AllDale Minerals IV for approximately $206.2 million.The diversified natural resource company said the deal implies a combined gross valuation of approximately $410.0 million for AllDale III and IV.It also said the general partner and limited partner interests being sold are valued at approximately $306.2 million, of which $206.2 million will be acquired by Alliance Resource Partners, and $100 million will be acquired by related parties of the company's Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Joseph W. Craft III.The transaction is expected to close in July, subject to customary closing conditions. The terms were approved by the conflicts committee of the board of directors of Alliance Resource Partners' general partner, the company said.Units of Alliance Resource Partners were recently up nearly 2% on Monday.
