Ameresco (AMRC), the Massachusetts-based energy infrastructure and renewable energy solutions provider, on Monday said that its power infrastructure business received $1.8 billion of new awards in Q2.The $1.8 billion awards comprised $1.2 billion for data centers and $600 million for other key markets, George Sakellaris, chairman and chief executive officer, said during the company's earnings call on Monday, as per transcripts available on FactSet.The company's total project backlog as of June 30 increased 32% year-on-year at almost $6.73 billion, which included awarded project backlog of about $4.42 billion and contracted backlog of around $2.3 billion, as per its earnings statement.In Q2, Ameresco added three new data center projects, bringing its total awarded data center backlog to five projects, in addition to the Lemoore data center project in its energy assets portfolio. The new awards have also helped expand the company's presence into Texas and Arizona, co-president Nicole Allen Bulgarino said.The company now provides service for over two and a half gigawatts of third-party solar and battery storage, CEO Mark Chiplock said.In Q2, Ameresco closed the Neogenyx joint venture with Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital (HASI), delivered its first renewable natural gas volumes to European compliance markets, commissioned the 250-megawatt Napanee battery energy storage system in Canada, and energized a 560 MW solar project in Greece, Sakellaris said.
