Alpha Exploration Says Shallow Drilling at its Anagulu Project in Eritrea Identifies a New Target Zone
Alpha Exploration (ALEX.V) on Wednesday said sampling results from shallow Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drilling at the Anagulu Copper-Gold Porphyry project in Eritrea showed a new target zone at the property, measuring one-kilometer along trend. The drilling at what the company has dubbed the Nightjar Target Zone delivered top of bedrock copper samples ranging from 3,390 parts per million (ppm) (0.33%) to 310 ppm copper. Drilling also expanded the Camel Target Zone defined an over one-kilometer trend with 125 to 250 meters width with top of bedrock copper samples ranging from 3,274 ppm (0.33%) to 300 ppm copper, the company added.Alpha said the width and grade of the Camel Target increased to the southwest and appears to have higher copper values than the comparable Discovery target zone based on the RAB sample results. This target remains open to the southwest where RAB drilling is ongoing in an area with anomalous termite mound sampling results."Importantly the Camel and Nightjar target zones were concealed under areas of shallow but immature soil cover, precluding them from conventional soil sampling detection," said Chief Executive John Wilton. "These new copper-gold target zones further indicate the large size footprint and shallow depth potential of the Anagulu Porphyry Copper-Gold Prospect."The company's shares last traded June 22 on the TSX Venture Exchange, closing at $0.50.
