Zojirushi's (TYO:7965) profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 3.9% to 3.53 billion yen for the six months ended May 20 from 3.40 billion yen a year earlier.
The kitchen appliances manufacturer's basic earnings per share increased to 55.66 yen from 51.86 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.
Net sales jumped 2.2% to 51.21 billion yen from 50.13 billion yen in the prior year.
For the fiscal year ending Nov. 20, the company expects attributable profit of 4.80 billion yen, basic EPS of 74.82 yen, and net sales of 92.5 billion yen.
The company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 23 yen per share each for the current year, bringing the annual dividend down to 46 yen from 82 yen paid a year ago.
