Zoe Energy Storage said Monday that it had partnered with a Saudi company to build the country's first battery energy storage manufacturing facility.
The company will develop the project in two phases, with Phase I adding 6 gigawatt-hours of capacity and starting production in Q1 2027.
Zoe Energy plans to expand the capacity to 18 GWh in Phase II, reducing Saudi Arabia's dependence on imported battery storage systems.
The company said the project will support Saudi Arabia's goals of 130 GW of renewable energy, 48 GWh of storage capacity and 50% clean electricity generation.
Zoe Energy will build the 150-acre facility to European manufacturing standards and secure "Made in Saudi" certification while supplying battery systems across the Gulf, Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and Africa.
The company also plans to establish a Green Energy Academy at the site to train local workers and strengthen regional expertise in battery storage technology.
Zoe Energy said the Saudi project will be its second overseas manufacturing hub, following its Hungary facility, supplying battery storage systems designed for extreme desert climates.
Chairman Huang Jun said the Saudi project represents an important part of Zoe Energy's international growth plans and will help expand energy storage development across the Middle East.
