Yuanta Financial Gets Financial Supervisory Commission's Nod for Yuanta Securities Acquisition

Yuanta Financial (TPE:2885) has received approval from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) for its acquisition of Yuanta Securities Investment Trust as a wholly-owned subsidiary through a share swap, according to a Wednesday filing to the Taiwan stock exchange.

The company's shares were up nearly 1% in Thursday's trade.

Under an agreement signed in March, Yuanta Financial agreed to acquire Yuanta Securities, wherein each common share of Yuanta Securities Investment will be exchanged for 5.2583 common shares of the company.

The acquisition was aimed at effectively integrating group resources, expanding synergies, and enhancing operations and profit momentum.

United Microelectronics Board OKs Up to NT$1.7 Billion Investment in Private Equity Fund

United Microelectronics (TPE:2303) board approved an investment of up to NT$1.7 billion in private equity fund TGVest Asia Partners III (Taiwan), according to a Wednesday Taiwan Exchange filing.The investment will be made through capital contributions based on capital call notices under the fund's limited partnership agreement.The funds will be used as a long-term investment, it said.
