Yamaichi Electronics (TYO:6941) has completed the investigation and full system recovery following an April 17 ransomware attack on its Philippine subsidiary, Pricon Microelectronics.
External cybersecurity experts confirmed the incident was limited to certain servers at the subsidiary, with no impact on critical systems in Japan or elsewhere in the group, a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday showed.
While some data loss occurred, recovery via backups was successful, and log analysis found no evidence of external information leakage, including customer or employee data.
The affected systems were rebuilt and returned to normal operation on April 29, with ongoing monitoring detecting no further suspicious activity.
