Yamaichi Electronics (TYO:6941) will invest about 6.5 billion yen to build a new factory in the Philippines to expand production capacity for semiconductor test sockets, connectors and other products, according to a Friday filing.
Construction of the three‑story Factory 4 in Malvar, Batangas is scheduled to begin in February 2027, with completion in September 2028 and operations targeted for the second half of fiscal 2028.
The facility will feature automated equipment and robotics, expanded in‑house component production and solar power generation, the filing said.
