WuXi AppTec's (HKG:2359) attributable profit jumped 33.7% in the first half as revenue across a majority of its segments grew, according to a Monday disclosure to the Hong Kong Exchange.
The drug research company logged an attributable profit of 11.08 billion yuan in the six months ended June 30, compared with 8.29 billion yuan in the year-ago period. Earnings per share came in at 3.76 yuan, up 30.1% from 2.89 yuan per share a year earlier.
Revenue jumped 38.9% to 28.90 billion yuan, following double-digit growth in three of the company's four operating segments. Supporting the performance with the biggest contribution, WuXi Chemistry saw revenue jump 53.3% to 24.99 billion yuan. Wuxi Testing and Wuxi Biology respectively recorded 31.5% and 11.2% revenue growth in the period. The Others segment's revenue fell 54.9%.
"Driven by greater success of multiple customers' products, our unique CRDMO model, and management and execution excellence, the Company has raised its full-year guidance for 2026," the company said. "By driving quality growth, realizing scale efficiency and enhancing operational excellence, while proactively managing new capacity ramp-up and foreign exchange rate challenges, the Company is confident in maintaining a stable and resilient margin of adjusted on-IFRS net profit attributable to the owners of the Company in 2026."
Specifically, WuXi AppTec revised its outlook upward for 2026, expecting revenue to range between 58.5 billion yuan and 60.5 billion yuan, compared with the previous forecast of 51.3 billion yuan to 53.0 billion yuan. Capital expenditure projections also rose to between 7.5 billion yuan and 8.5 billion yuan from the previous guidance of 6.5 billion yuan to 7.5 billion yuan.
Directors approved a dividend of 5.10 yuan per 10 shares, equivalent to a total payout of 1.51 billion yuan for the half, inclusive of taxes, payable Sept. 4 to shareholders on record as of Aug. 26.
