The World Bank confirmed a plan to phase out lending to China by 2031, according to the organization's new country partnership framework published Friday.
The move, first reported in early July, will limit fresh financing to $2 billion over the remaining period.
The World Bank said its relationship with China has shifted to "more selective engagement built on knowledge, innovation and mutual learning" from a financing-driven one.
