Woodside Energy Delivered 'Fairly Well-Guided' H1 Result With All Growth Projects on Track, Jarden Says

By

Woodside Energy Group (ASX:WDS) delivered a "fairly well-guided result" for the first half, with a small beat on net profit after tax driven by higher other income, Jarden said in a Tuesday note.

The company also disclosed a $350 million per year cost-out target in 2028, put its Beaumont ammonia plant in the US up for review, and terminated its $5 billion investment target in new energy by 2030.

"With all growth projects on track, focus will be on the company's structure review outcomes - the timing and composition of the $350 million cost-out target and whether the Beaumont review implies the likely sale and exit from this asset," Jarden said.

The equity research firm is now looking for updates on the Louisiana LNG sell-down and LNG marketing efforts ahead of "an expected material step up" in Woodside's share of development capital expenditure in 2027.

Jarden has an overweight rating on Woodside Energy with a target price of AU$32.20.

The company's shares were 1% lower in recent Tuesday trade.
