Wison Engineering said on Thursday it had secured a $4.04 billion contract from Adnoc Gas to build a new natural gas processing train at Habshan in Abu Dhabi.
The Chinese engineering firm said the core engineering, procurement and construction contract for Phase 2 of Adnoc Gas' Rich Gas Development project is valued at about $3.9 billion, with an additional 220-kilovolt switch station bringing the total to about $4.04 billion.
The project, located in the Habshan area of Abu Dhabi, will include a new large-scale gas-processing train as well as gas pipelines, separation and condensate-stabilization units, acid-gas removal facilities and deep natural gas liquids recovery units.
Wison said that once completed, the facility will increase Adnoc Gas' processing capacity and provide greater operational flexibility.
The Habshan development is part of broader efforts by the UAE to maximize the value of its natural gas resources, increase processing capacity and provide feedstock for domestic industries.
Adnoc Gas, a unit of state-owned Adnoc Group, is pursuing projects to increase gas-processing capacity and support the UAE's broader industrial growth and energy strategy.
