West Japan Railway's (TYO:9021) profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 20.1% to 39.0 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 48.8 billion yen a year earlier.
The railway operator's basic earnings per share slipped to 85.80 yen from 104.54 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Operating revenues for the three months ended June 30 contracted nearly 1% to 424.4 billion yen from 427.1 billion yen in the year-ago corresponding period.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company expects attributable profit of 100 billion yen, EPS of 219.74 yen, and operating revenues of 1.829 trillion yen.
The company expects to pay an interim dividend of 48.50 yen per share and a year-end dividend of 49.00 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
